Energy procurement for companies

We consider consumption, how prices are fixed, contract duration and supply terms together. From these, we develop a procurement approach that suits your business and its need for planning certainty.

What you will receive

  • A sound basis for your energy procurement.
  • Offers with comprehensible differences.
  • A personal recommendation and clear next steps.

START WITH YOUR DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS

What's on your agenda?

Your reason for contacting us determines which information matters first. Open the situation that matches your business.

The next energy contract is due.

You want to make timely decisions and compare offers transparently. We consider delivery start date and notice periods, requirements, and the desired price guarantee together.

The key question: How much predictability does your budget need, and which price components should be fixed to achieve it?

Your starting point
Current contract and last annual statement.
What OPTUM prepares
Available offers for comparable quantities and periods, with clear differences in how prices are fixed and in the applicable terms.

This allows you to align the decision with your needs and identify which costs or conditions are still subject to change.

Understanding fixed prices, tranches, spot markets and hybrid models →
Our business and its consumption are changing.

A new facility, additional shifts, different opening hours, or company charging points are changing demand. The current annual figures do not yet reflect this development.

The key question: How will the energy volume change, and at which times of day or year?

Your starting point
Invoices, known changes and available load profile data.
What OPTUM prepares
A consumption basis that distinguishes between previous operations and known changes. Open assumptions remain identifiable.

Your next procurement round therefore starts with planned usage. The previous year’s volume is not simply carried forward without review. For electricity contracts, we also check how excess and shortfall volumes are billed.

We would like to consider several locations together.

Different suppliers, deadlines, and contact persons make decisions complex. A joint overview shows which delivery points are compatible and where individual conditions need to be considered.

The key question: For which sites can energy be procured jointly, and which deadlines or changes need a separate solution?

Your starting point
A list of locations with energy types, quantities, and contract end dates.
What OPTUM prepares
An organised basis for grouping supply points, comparing offers and coordinating the next supply dates.

This allows you to keep track of differences between locations and better coordinate joint decisions internally.

TWO ENERGY FORMS. ONE CONNECTION.

Commercial electricity and commercial gas.
Procured appropriately.

We assist with the procurement of electricity and gas. Your actual needs, the complete price breakdown, and the terms of the supply contract are all taken into account.

Electricity and gas: from operation to demandElectricity demand follows operating times, gas demand follows space and process heating. Quantity, timing, and planned changes together form the basis for purchasing.UNDERSTANDING THE NEEDEnergy follows your business.ElectricityWhich equipment runs, and when?gasWhat is the heating used for?Production · Cooling · ITSpaces · ProcessesQuantity + Operating hours + ChangesThe common basis for purchasing.
Energy needs start with daily operations. Record electricity and gas separately, then assess operating hours and planned changes together.
Fixed price, tranches or spot market: What suits your business?

A fixed price binds the agreed energy price for the contractually defined scope. With tranches, procurement is spread over several points in time. Spot and hybrid models allow for market price fluctuations, either fully or partially. The decisive factors are the budget, consumption patterns, and the willingness to bear price risks. We will examine which other price components remain variable in the specific offer.

Joint planning does not mean treating every site identically. Check contract end dates and notice periods separately. Joint procurement takes account of the conditions at each supply point.

WHEN YOUR BUSINESS GROWS

More locations.
A shared perspective.

A new branch is opened, a location relocates, or a production area is expanded. Energy contracts and responsibilities should reflect these changes.

  • Clearly allocate electricity and gas to each delivery point.
  • Consider contract end dates and possible delivery dates together.
  • Plan for new and discontinued delivery points as well as changes in quantities well in advance.

Consolidation can simplify purchasing and organization. We will examine which locations can be combined based on existing contracts.

Questions about energy procurement with OPTUM

What role does OPTUM play in energy procurement?

OPTUM organizes consumption data, contracts, and deadlines, coordinates procurement criteria with you, and compares available offers. After you make your decision, the energy team guides you through the agreed steps to finalize the supply contract. The selected supplier then delivers the electricity or gas.

For which companies is this collaboration suitable?

For commercial, industrial, and service companies, from single locations to multiple delivery points. Which procurement models and offers are suitable depends, among other things, on the energy quantity, metering, delivery start date, and the company's requirements.

What documents do we need for the initial contact?

For initial contact, we only need to know the type of energy, the number of delivery points, the desired start date, and your request. For a reliable comparison, the last complete billing statement, existing contract terms, and any known changes in consumption are helpful. Existing load profile data will further assist in the assessment.

Can OPTUM help if the contract is still in effect?

Yes. Existing contract durations and notice periods form the basis for planning the next supply start date. There is no need to give notice hastily on an ongoing contract. We first agree on the options and deadlines that actually apply.

What are the costs associated with collaborating with OPTUM?

An inquiry does not trigger a paid order. We will explicitly agree on the specific scope of services and the remuneration with you before conducting an individual analysis and supplier inquiry.

Is OPTUM itself the energy supplier?

No. OPTUM supports energy purchasing and brokerage. You conclude your supply contract directly with the selected energy supplier. Responsibilities and agreed tasks are clarified before implementation.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Let's start with
your needs.

A new contract, a change in consumption, or multiple locations: Briefly describe your request. We'll clarify with you what information is needed for the next step. The basic details are sufficient for initial contact.

Discuss your needs

Your inquiry does not place an order for paid services. We explicitly agree the scope of services and fees with you before conducting an individual analysis or requesting offers from suppliers.
